Environmental Responsibility
Nakisa serves enterprises around the world. We take our responsibility to the environment seriously everywhere we operate — not as a compliance exercise, but as a reflection of who we are and the clients we value globally.
Renewable energy matched by AWS across global operations — achieved in 2023
Scope 1 direct emissions — no vehicles, manufacturing, or combustion equipment
Regions — North America, Europe, and beyond — each with low-carbon hosting options
Nakisa is committed to minimizing our environmental impact, complying with all applicable environmental legislation globally, and continuously improving our sustainability performance. We serve enterprises across North America, Europe, and internationally — and we take our environmental responsibilities seriously in every market.
Our formal Environmental Policy, effective April 2025, covers our cloud infrastructure, operational practices, supply chain requirements, and annual emissions reporting commitments
Operate on AWS, which achieved 100% renewable energy matching globally in 2023 and maintains a net-zero carbon commitment by 2040.
Meet or exceed all applicable environmental legislation in every jurisdiction where Nakisa operates — Canada, the United States, Europe, and all other markets.
Minimize energy consumption across offices and optimize software architecture for computational efficiency, reducing unnecessary cloud resource consumption.
Pursue a paperless organization, actively promote recycling, and responsibly manage physical and electronic assets across all locations.
Maintain a permanent hybrid work model and conduct sales, implementation, and support operations remotely wherever possible.

Nakisa’s platform runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) — one of the most sustainability-committed infrastructure providers in the world. We select hosting regions with both data residency requirements and local grid carbon intensity in mind.
AWS matched 100% of its global electricity with renewable energy in 2023, seven years ahead of schedule. The world’s largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy, with a net-zero carbon commitment by 2040.
AWS maintains regional data centers globally. Nakisa selects hosting regions with carbon intensity in mind — from Quebec’s hydro grid to AWS Frankfurt and other AWS regions — alongside client data residency requirements.
Nakisa measures greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories. We use the AWS Customer Carbon Footprint Tool to quantify cloud-related emissions annually.

Reducing our environmental footprint is embedded in how Nakisa operates globally — from how our teams work to how our software is designed and delivered.
Employees across Nakisa’s global locations commute to office approximately one to two days per week — an enduring organizational commitment that materially reduces commuting emissions.
Sales, implementation, and customer support are conducted primarily remotely. On-site travel is reserved for situations where it provides clear client value that cannot be achieved otherwise.
Nakisa actively minimizes printing, digitizes internal processes, and promotes recycling across all office facilities globally.
Nakisa Decision Intelligence runs on containerized microservices on Kubernetes, scaling compute proportionally to demand. AI interactions use bounded context and SELECT-only queries — reducing unnecessary processing and cloud energy consumption.
Nakisa’s platform does more than reduce our own footprint — it directly supports the sustainability objectives of enterprises we serve around the world.
Nakisa IWMS enables organizations to rationalize their physical footprint, consolidate underperforming facilities, and reduce building energy and emissions from unnecessary space.

Nakisa digitizes lease, real estate, and workforce processes that traditionally rely on paper-based records, contracts, and approvals — removing a significant source of physical waste.
Nakisa NDI surfaces portfolio-level insights including cost, utilization, and environmental performance data — enabling real estate and facilities leaders to make more informed, more sustainable asset decisions.
